Age-Tastic!® is a Health and Wellness 8 week program that was designed and tested at the NYC Department for the Aging. The program applies game play theory, group facilitated discussions, and “try it at home” activities to significantly increase knowledge and self-efficacy, and adopt healthier behaviors.

Played in 8, 1 hour per week sessions, participants learn about: falls prevention, the benefits of social engagement, financial mistreatment and fraud prevention, healthy nutrition, exercise and medication management.

Roll the die and pick a card! The Certified Age-Tastic!® Facilitator leads groups of up to 15 older adults in answering the card questions about health, nutrition, financial literacy, and more. Participants earn Age-Tastic!® dollars and prizes, having a great time while learning and adopting healthier behaviors and making connections.

Run 6 programs with 90 participants in your 1st year of implementation for less than $21/person!

combat social isolation

Loneliness and Social Isolation were already prevalent before the COVID-19 pandemic. They are now an epidemic.

Age-Tastic!® fosters a highly engaging environment of connectedness while learning.

promote healthy, independent living

According to an AARP study, 90 percent of people age 65 and over would prefer to stay in their own homes as they get older. Age-Tastic!® is designed to help older adults learn about and make wiser decisions about nutrition, falls prevention, exercise, medication management, and financial mistreatment and fraud.

improve social determinants of health

Raising awareness of holistic health and safety among older adults is critical to enhancing their wellbeing. Age-Tastic uses the concept of a competitive board game to entice older adults to participate and stay engaged, helping them gain awareness, health literacy, self-efficacy and positive behavioral change in the areas of nutrition, financial exploitation, health literacy, emotional well-being, and social connections.

Most Older Adult health and wellness programs focus on one specific issue like depression, falls prevention or chronic disease management. Age-Tastic!® is unique and value-driven in that it was developed to have a holistic and strength-based perspective. It incorporates multiple aspects of health - social, physical, mental, and financial - that encourages behavioral change using health and wellness theories, builds upon a flexible approach, and highly engages participants because they are having fun while they learn.
